Australian women are survivors. However, no matter how resilient they appear, everyone needs some sense of purpose, value and significance in life. We all need a place to belong that is safe and encouraging. This is what is offered through The Significant Woman, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ Australia that reaches women of all ages, in any season of life.
February 26, 2011 found sixteen women meeting in Melbourne for the “Taste of The Significant Woman” seminar featured at an Embrace Conference. Most were key women from their church or denomination interested in using the resource. Several bought facilitators guides and participant books to start a group.
Di Feldman, one of the authors of The Significant Woman (TSW), was key speaker. Rachel Littlechild, a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ Australia served as MC for this introductory seminar. It was the hope of TSW leaders that this would stir up interest like it has in Sydney.
One of the attendees said “I’ve been through the 8-week course and it has enriched my life, I am truly touched. I can see how this can enrich women’s lives.”
“It was such a joy meeting the women, hearing their stories and the ministry opportunities they were already engaging in,” says Jan Speckman, ministry leader for TSW. “We trust that TSW will be used as a resource to support and enrich women’s efforts where they work and in a variety of other situations.”
